The Multimedia faculty and program co-creators tapped into some of the worlds most highly acclaimed multimedia production studios and software companies as they fine-tuned a curriculum which focuses on five major areas: Digital Imaging, Web Design and Production, Digital Video Arts. Berkeley City College’s Multimedia Arts Program prepares people for entry-level jobs in Multimedia and provides skills-upgrading for those already employed in multimedia jobs. Our program provides an interdisciplinary environment with the focus on developing fine art, critical thinking, and computer skills.

Designing, illustrating and producing new viewpoints using computers has come of age in the new world. Computer illustrations are now commonplace in advertising, filmmaking, graphic production, photography and every creative endeavor, including fine art.
It is rare to find a conventional artist who doesn’t make use of a computer. Students learn the fine points of software and hardware used in the production of digital imaging. These are tools in which the artist can thrive and compete in todays working environment.
Digital Video Arts Program equips students to enter the digital video revolution. The program offers professional-level instruction focused on video design and digital postproduction, with supplemetary courses in preproduction, production, and multimedia theory.
The Digital Video Arts curriculum includes courses in nonlinear video editing, motion graphics, sound design, camera technique, scriptwriting and storyboarding, presentation technologies, business practices and real-world video projects
The Mobile + Web Design program is on the leading edge of a digital revolution. Students become quickly immersed and aware of the technological revolution in the bay area, developing the technological and business skills to become Front-End Web Designers, UI/UX Designers, and Start-Up Entrepreneurs.
The curriculum helps students develop strengths with Mobile Design, Online Games, Interactive Design, Visual Programming, E-Commerce, Project Development, Internet Marketing, Social Media, Streaming Media, and Web Design.
